About ASICEZ
The history of Ameer Shehu Idris College of Education (ASICEZ), Zaria cannot be completed without reference to the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), Institute of Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria which initiated the idea of establishing the College before it became a community-based institution.
The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) was established in 1959/60 under the Northern Nigeria Ministry of Education by Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto.
Today the board serves the whole of Nigeria with over 200 affiliated institutions for accreditation and certification.
